I believe in an open and private web. This website is a personal digital garden designed to document my engineering work.
I intentionally do not use cookies, tracking scripts, analytics tools, or advertising pixels.

2. Hosting and Server Log Files
Although this website does not use analytics, the web server inevitably collects technical data to transmit the website to your browser.
This website is hosted by Cloudways on Digital Ocean.
The server provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called “Server Log Files”, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server inquiry
- IP address (anonymized or stored for a limited timeframe for security purposes)
This data is not merged with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (Legitimate Interest) to ensure the technical stability and security of the website.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
I do not use tracking cookies.
This website is built with WordPress. If you simply visit the site to read, no cookies are set.
Cookies are only generated if you attempt to log into the administrative backend of this site (which is restricted to the administrator).
4. External Tools & Fonts
To protect your privacy, this website hosts all fonts, styles, and scripts locally.
- Google Fonts: Not used. All fonts are served locally from my server.
- Analytics: No Google Analytics, no Matomo, no Hotjar.
- Social Media: No social media plugins (like “Like” buttons) are loaded. Links to my LinkedIn or GitHub are static HTML links.
5. Contact via Email
If you contact me via email, your inquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, email), will be stored and processed by me for the purpose of processing your request. I do not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (if your request is related to a contract) or Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (my legitimate interest in replying to inquiries).
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to request information about your stored personal data, its origin, its recipients, and the purpose of its collection at any time and at no charge. You also have the right to request that it be corrected, blocked, or deleted. You can contact me at any time at the address given in the legal notice (Impressum) if you have further questions about the issue of privacy and data protection.
